This solo revolves around a female character. She could be the main character of Opening
Night, a film by John Cassavettes, or one of the lonely women that Edward Hopper
painted.
It is the story of a woman who has reached the middle of her life and is preparing to take
the step into the other half of her existence.
In the film Opening Night, Gena Rowlands plays an actress who is facing this ageing
process. I was interested in this subject and that's where I started to work. The character in
this solo goes through three different stages, the first one is about the skin, its changes,
what she felt, her memories. The second focuses on the character's relationship with others,
how they see her or how she would like them to see her, what the audience gives back to
her. The third is about the conflict with herself, the crisis and the denouement.
