Christine Cloux usually works from sensations to arrive at movement. However, in ‘181°’ it is just the opposite, she starts from movement to produce sensations, emotions that seem ‘free of charge’, that come from the energy that her head contains and that she transfers in a measured way to the whole body during the approximately eight minutes that the show lasts. This mental force is nothing but the memory of time, or rather, the memory of movement in time.
‘181° is another turn of the screw that strengthens Christine Cloux’s professional career, avoiding the rust of the chain of age that binds us more to the future than to the past; and it is at the same time a ’casting off” to freely search for the interstices in time that allow us to relocate ourselves. It is mending the shreds of the soul; it is stirring up a poem that does not cease. That will not cease until it is completed in its 360°.
