Christine Cloux, born in Lausanne (Switzerland), is a renowned dancer, choreographer and teacher with almost 40 years of experience in the field of dance. Her career has been marked by her participation in renowned companies such as the Basel Ballet, the Ballet de Nancy, the Compagnie Gallotta, Roc in Lichen and Philippe Decouflé, establishing herself as a leading figure in international contemporary dance.
In 1999, Christine settled in Valencia, the city that has become her home and where she has developed a large part of her artistic activity. She has worked with the Ballet de la Generalitat and the Cienfuegos company, performing leading roles in productions such as Lacrimosa Dies Illa, Sueños de éter and La Bella Durmiente. That same year, she received the Award for Best Dance Performer from the Generalitat Valenciana, a recognition of her excellence on stage.
Her creative spirit has led her to explore diverse formats and collaborations. Among her most outstanding works are solos such as Después del amor, si me quedo and G, como caído del cielo, both awarded for their innovation and artistic depth. He has also participated in choreographic direction projects such as John Cage’s Europera 1 & 2 and Bertolt Brecht’s Happy End, as well as creating his own pieces such as Bellas Durmientes and Tout finira bien, the latter nominated for several Performing Arts Awards from the Generalitat ValencianaPremis in 2021.
In addition to her career as a performer and creator, Christine is passionate about teaching. She is a teacher qualified by the French State and a graduate of the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de València, where she has also worked as a teacher. Her commitment to the training of new generations of dancers is reflected in her teaching career and her constant dedication to the development of dance as an art and a discipline.
In her latest work, Corps Seul, premiered in 2023, Christine continues to demonstrate her ability to reinvent herself and explore new choreographic languages, reaffirming her place as one of the essential figures on the contemporary dance scene.
